Traditional Tongan Funeral Filming – Liberty Funerals, Granville
In December last year, I had the honour of working with Liberty Funerals, Granville, over two days to film a traditional Tongan funeral service and burial.
The booking came through last minute, with the family requesting that I film a family and church service that same afternoon. The next day, they also wished for the burial to be captured, so videographer Troy joined me to assist.
The family prayer service began at 5pm and continued until midnight. It was a moving and intimate gathering, with loved ones dressed in traditional Tongan funeral attire. The service was filled with heartfelt tributes, prayers, and beautiful singing shared between family and friends.
It was a privilege to capture such meaningful moments across both days, preserving the memories for the family and those unable to attend.
