Funeral Service for Dr John Heard – Christ Church Cathedral, Newcastle

Amos from Creightons Funeral Service referred me to film the funeral of Dr John Heard (58) at Christ Church Cathedral, Newcastle. John sadly passed away unexpectedly in a traffic accident, which came as a huge shock to his family and the wider community.
John’s wife, Linda, is also a doctor, and their two daughters attended school at Christ Church Cathedral, making the location especially meaningful for the service.
I filmed the arrival of the hearse, the placement of the coffin inside the Cathedral, and the moving addition of the Scottish Bag Pipers, who played both at the beginning and conclusion of the service. I also captured the blessing at the hearse, and the pipers leading it away – a touching and symbolic farewell.
It was a long day travelling up from our Newtown office, but I was grateful to be there to help the family preserve these moments. Along with a keepsake of the video and photographs, we also created a private webpage link so family in Scotland could watch the service.
The feedback from Linda via Felicia at Creightons Funeral Service was positive:
“I saw Linda today and she said how lovely and respectful Michelle was on the day. As she always is.”
A heartfelt thank you to Amos for introducing me to Linda, and to Felicia, Joseph and the whole Creightons team for their professionalism and care on the day.

I have just viewed, and so beautifully filmed. This is so special to have, not only for us but for a great many family members unable to attend, from Europe and Ireland. I was impressed by your complete professionalism and caring nature.
