St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Edgecliff

The 1 & 1/2hr service with full mass was held at the beautiful St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Edgecliff, and officiated by the wonderful Father Paul Ghanem who I’ve worked with before.

The wife of the deceased requested our Premium 3 camera coverage. I captured details such as the arrival of the hearse, as well as the coffin placement before start of the service.

There was also live music: Soloist & Soprano Tanith Bryce, Organist Dr Brett McKern and Violinist Rosemary Byron. I made sure to set up mics near Tanith and at the lectern.

After the service family and friends went into a hall for food and coffee for 30mins, then there was a horse drawn hearse for the departure, with Under The Milky Way by The Church playing as the recessional song.

It was a heart-warming moment to see the wife of the deceased accompany her late husband off on the horse drawn carriage.

The family received a USB keepsake of the filmed service, as well as photographs from the day. They also received a private link to the service to share with friends and relatives.

It was a sad but beautiful service, and a fitting celebration of the deceased’s life.
