Dear Families and Funeral Directors,
Thank you for visiting Funeral Video Australia, our online video service for grieving families. For those who have recently lost a loved one I am sorry for your loss and my thoughts and wishes go out to you.
At Family Videography I first became involved with creating Tribute videos and recording memorial services during 2010. This was after my Grandmother (Granny Ann) passed away, a sad time in my family’s life.
As I work with video on a daily basis and my mother was busy with the funeral arrangements I started looking through her photo albums and collecting photos of Granny Ann as a young girl to a doting grandmother, then great grandmother. I was also lucky to have video footage from family get-togethers filmed over the last 10 years. I spent many hours remembering, reflecting and missing my Granny Ann.
Once I had finished the video I posted it online for Mum, family and friends to view. My family laughed, cried and remembered our Granny Ann. It was so nice to share the moments and celebrate a great woman. At the service we played the video in the reflection time for my Grandfather (Jimmy) to watch.
For me it was a special time creating the video. It helped me accept that Granny Ann had gone, and reflect on the influences she had on mine and my family’s life.
Since then I have worked with many families in Sydney offering a mobile service creating Tribute videos. I have also filmed services for families with relatives and friends overseas that could not attend. At first it felt I was intruding their grieving process with the camera though after hearing how happy the families were to have a record of the occasion, as they remembered very little of the service once it is all over. I realised how important it is to be open to capturing all family events.
Funeral Video Australia has been created to assist families in Australia, no matter where they live. Using the power of the internet and experienced videographers, families can create a tribute video in the comfort of their own home without the expensive price tag. By sending digital photos we can take over the editing process and create a professional and meaningful Tribute video.
